Step #1 - Setting the remote to control your TV Power and Volume.
Turn your TV set on - manually
Push and hold the "LED" button until the red LED on the top of the remote goes from solid red to blinking red.
Let go of the "LED" button.
Now push the "RECORD" button - this is the button with the red oval on it.
Now push the "POWER" button one time - this will turn the LED solid red.
While aiming the remote at the TV set - start pushing the "UP ARROW" (this is the button above the "SELECT" key).Continue pushing the "UP ARROW" while watching for the TV to shut off. Pay close attention as to not push the "UP ARROW" key anymore once TV set shuts off.
Once the TV shuts off - push the "SELECT" key to store the settings.
You have successfully set up the remote to control your TV functions
Step #2 - Setting your remote to the same frequency as your TV Set-top Box
With remote in hand - walk up to your Set-top box, and push the "wrench button" or on some set-top boxes push the "menu" button.
Using your "DOWN ARROW" - scroll down to "Remote Control Setup". Then push Select.
Now press the "PPV" button on your remote control. It is located just above the "3" button.
The screen on your TV now lists the Gateway ID for the remote and the Gateway ID. Take note of the Gateway ID and write it down.
Now exit out of these menus by hitting the "EXIT" button on the remote twice.
Now push and hold down the "LED" button at the top of the remote. Hold it down until the red LED starts to blink, then release it.
Next, push the "RECORD" button - this is the button with the red oval on it.
Then push the "B" button once
Now - X - X - X
NOTE - the X's above represent the number that you wrote down.
You have successfully set up the remote control to be on the same frequency as your set-top box.
Step #3 - Setting up your remote for the Channel 3 or 7
If your TV is in the same room with the set-top box and is on channel 3:
Push and hold down the "LED" button at the top of the remote. Hold it down until the red LED starts to blink, then release it.
Now push the "RECORD" button - this is the button with the red oval on it.
Next, push the "A" button once.
Now - just hit the "0" button one time
Push and hold down the "LED" button at the top of the remote. Hold it down until the red LED starts to blink, then release it.
Now push the "RECORD" button - this is the button with the red oval on it.
Next, push the "A" button once.
Now - just hit the "1" button one time.
If your TV is not in the same room with the set-top box and set to channel 7:
Push and hold down the "LED" button at the top of the remote. Hold it down until the red LED starts to blink, then release it.
Now push the "RECORD" button - this is the button with the red oval on it.
Next, push the "A" button once.
Now - just hit the "2" button one time.
Push and hold down the "LED" button at the top of the remote. Hold it down until the red LED starts to blink, then release it.
Now push the "RECORD" button - this is the button with the red oval on it.
Next, push the "A" button once.
Now - just hit the "2" button one time.
You have now successfully set up your SRC-300 Remote control to function properly on you Venus Digital TV Home Network.
