The 1986 Honda ATC500R

HOME

This is a custom built 1986 ATC500R. Although, never a production vehicle for Honda - there are a good number of these conversions out there. This conversion is far better suited for the ATC than the TRX due to the vibration the massive 500cc 2 stroke engine makes. TRX conversions have a tendency to "shake apart" much like a Harley Davidson - always loosing bolts. The ATC frame geometry is much better as the front forks and center downtube reduce the amount of vibration by dampening it better.

This conversion was built by Brandon Robinson (3leggeddog on 3WW) and Jason Hall (Halls Performance & jasonhall on 3WW). They did an excellent job on this conversion. Brandon is well known as probably the best MX racer - possibly in the world at the current time and Jason Hall is known for his custom mind blowing creations such as his TRX450 powered trike. Jason also builds his sons custom race trikes - one is a cr65 powered, fully suspended Tri-Zinger, another is a cut 250R powered by a CR85.

Thanks to my race sponsor - Riverhill Battery Warehouse - I now have custom Silver Plastic and Custom graphics. See bottom pictures for the new look!
